Therapy can help with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, traumatic experiences, bereavement or abuse.

Many people, however, seek therapy without having a specific reason for doing so. People may feel stuck in a particular pattern of behaviour or may become frustrated as to why they repeat certain experiences and may seek therapy to work through these issues.

The purpose of counselling is to help the client to come to a deeper understanding of themselves and to find their own answers. This can take a bit of getting used to, and a client may sometimes wish that the therapist could provide the answers for them, but this process of self-discovery is what makes the therapeutic relationship different from other relationships.

Some of the areas that I deal in are:

  • Pregnancy, infertility and infant loss
  • Grief, loss and life transitions
  • Mindfulness and stress reduction
  • Relationship and sexual issues
  • Addiction and recovery
  • Emotional, sexual and physical trauma
  • Vocational and career issues
